and have limited resources, we will attempt to post the
most significant stories from our newsletter and breaking
news on the Website in a timely manner.
We intend for our stories to be fair, accurate, and understood;
however, we advise all readers to consider other sources
before making any judgments or taking any action.
Our stories will fall into one of the following three categories:

- Legislative News
Merrick, Inc., News will include stories specific to the
agency and the clients we serve. Stories here might include
upcoming events (i.e., client holiday party, self-advocacy
events, open houses, etc.); program updates; vocational
activities; transportation notices; staff updates; diversity
messages; and announcements. For those interested in receiving
our newsletter, please go to the guestbook
page and add your name to the mailing list.
Media News Releases will include articles about Merrick,
Inc., that have appeared in various publications as well
as news about significant events that Merrick, Inc., staff
report to local media. Examples include articles from Training,
Twin Cities Employment Weekly, and Business Journal.
Legislative News will be limited to federal, state, or
county legislation and/or regulatory actions that impact
the services we provide or the clients we serve. News items
here might include proposed legislation, regulatory changes,
public policy notices, and legislative and/or regulatory
contact information.
To comply with the federal lobby law issued by the Internal
Revenue Service and the State Ethics in Government Act (Minn.
Stat., Chapter 10A, and rules 4510 and 4525); Merrick, Inc.,
will not use this Website for either "direct"
or "grassroots" lobbying. Therefore, the Website
will not contain language stating the agency's position
on specific legislation or urging the general public to
contact legislators or other government employees who participate
in the formulation of legislation.
