Merrick, Inc., a highly respected agency in the Twin Cities
area, is committed to providing superior Day Training and
Habilitation (DT&H) services to adults with developmental
disabilities (DD). Our Board of Directors and Management
Team recognize the critical role employees have in exceptional
service delivery. Therefore, in order to recruit and retain
qualified full-time employees, Merrick, Inc., provides a
comprehensive direct and indirect compensation package,
all within a supportive, positive work environment.
Compensation
Merrick, Inc., strives to provide competitive wages. Starting
wages may be adjusted based on educational background and/or
experience in the DD field.
- New full-time hires are awarded a $200.00 incentive
once their initial employee-in-training period has been
successfully completed.
- Merrick, Inc., is committed to providing performance-based
wage increases, not limited by state approved increases.
Work Schedules
Merrick, Inc., employees are scheduled to work Monday through
Friday and typically do not work late evenings, weekends,
or holidays.
Medical
Multiple health insurance plans are available for both employees
and their eligible dependents.
- Merrick, Inc., and the employee share in the health
insurance premium costs.
- Currently, the agency pays 75% of the employee only-low
option plan.
Dental
Dental insurance is available for employees, with Merrick,
Inc., paying all of the premium costs of employee only coverage.
Dental coverage for eligible dependents is also available
at the employee's expense.
Life Insurance
Life insurance is available for both employees and their
eligible dependents. This plan also includes an accidental
death and dismemberment provision.
- Merrick, Inc., pays all of the premium costs for both
employee and dependent coverage.
- Voluntary group term life insurance is also offered
at the employee's expense.
Long-Term Disability
Long-term disability is another component of the agency's
insurance package. Merrick, Inc., pays all of the premium
costs for employee coverage.
Flexible Spending Account
A Section 125 flexible benefit plan is also offered. This
allows employees to have pre-tax dollars deducted from their
paychecks for insurance premium payments, health care reimbursement,
and/or dependent care reimbursement.
Savings Plan
A 403(b) retirement plan is also available. Employees are
able to contribute directly into their 403(b) accounts through
pre-tax payroll deductions. Employer contributions may also
be distributed on a discretionary basis.
Paid Time Off
A generous Paid Time Off package is offered for vacation
and sick leave.
- New employees earn 10.66 hours of PTO each month (16
days in a 12-month period).
- PTO accrual amounts increase by 40 hours every three
years.
- The maximum number of hours that can be earned is 20.66
hours per month (31 days in a 12-month period) for ten
or more years of service.
- Paid holidays are another feature of the benefit package.
Merrick, Inc., employees enjoy 10 paid holidays each year.
Other Benefits
Merrick, Inc., actively seeks its employees' feedback through
annual Staff Opinion Surveys. We also manage an employee
recognition committee, and a number of employees volunteer
on the Fun Ideas Start Here (FISH) committee to promote
employee morale.
Since Merrick, Inc., believes that initial and ongoing
staff training is critical to providing quality client services,
a paid training program is provided and all employees attend
an annual Company Meeting Day.
