We offer a variety of meaningful work options, life enrichment activities, and therapeutic programs to over 375 adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities (I/DD) at our energy efficient facility in Vadnais Heights and our newly renovated space in North St. Paul.
We are dedicated to empowering adults with disabilities through vocational and social opportunities, and guiding them toward realizing their goals and dreams.
Through person-centered planning and a discovery process, along with self-advocacy, the clients at Merrick are finding their place in the world by: • working in desired and meaningful jobs, • being actively engaged in their communities, • building relationships, • enhancing personal skills, and • leading more self-determined lives.
Pre-vocational services are a primary focus of our program and include facility-based contracts completed at our building in Vadnais Heights, or employer-based options for placement of individuals and work crews at the business location. Another area of focus is life enrichment activities – creating opportunities for clients to articulate their needs and desires, build relationships, participate in social opportunities, develop leadership skills, and reach personal goals.
We employ 110 people with an average tenure of over eight years with the company. For 2011, our turnover rate was under four percent, exceptionally low for our industry.
Merrick, Inc.'s logo is a montage of old charting elements (scribe, mapping table, and compass) as a visual reminder that we are an experienced company that continues to be the pathfinder for those seeking to explore new horizons.
